We have 2 more pop-ups markets to attend this month.
Greetings #CLASSMates,
Thank you for all of your support. A couple of weeks ago, we got some GREAT news in the form of promo: our first piece of published press about CLASS Bookstore. Bro. Aswad Walker interviewed me for The Houston Defender and it was great. Definitely was not expecting the great amount of love and support that came out about the article, but I am THANKFUL! Read the article and learn more about me and my various endeavors/hobbies/etc.
We are at the half-way mark for the amount of pop-ups that we are participating in this month & I must say, that it is HARD work. I must also say that the work is very fulfilling.
Check these photos out from the BLCK Market at the Buffalo Soldier National Museum:
This was our first time having books to cover 2 tables! We were very excited by this and we look forward to having more pop-ups with 2 tables.
Then, there was this pop-up.
While we were greeted with warmth, entertained by the Aux Band, and were able to make transactions, we think that many people were turned off by the cover charge. Also, at the 9pm mark, we immediately had to leave because it became a bar environment and people did NOT come to buy books (LOL)!
Anyway, our third pop-up is this weekend, on Juneteenth. Without going into detail, Juneteenth is an important holiday for us as Black people, as well as being native Texans. We will be back at the EEDC parking lot, across the street from Emancipation Park in 3rd Ward:

We will be out there from 4pm - 8pm!
