About the Compiler:
Brother Abdul Qiyam Muhammad is a citizen of The Nation of Islam under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. He first heard The Life-Giving Teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad in 1993 at the age of 14 and became a registered member in 1997 at Muhammad Mosque No. 45 in Houston, Texas. He is a husband and father of two children.
For over fourteen years, he has had the honor of serving as the social media strategist for The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and the compiler of the on-going popular book series “The Teachings 2.0: The Twitter Sayings of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan”. Since 2011, The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has answered over 5,000 social media questions submitted by his social media followers from around the world. Each volume of "The Teachings 2.0" series contains questions and answers on subjects such as Youth, Religion & Spirituality, Health & Wellness, Marriage & Family, Education, Leadership, Business Economics, World Affairs and much more.
Brother Qiyam is an award-winning journalist and blogger, community servant, entrepreneur, social media strategist and energetic speaker. He developed a passion for blogging and launched BrotherQiyamBlog.com over 17 years ago. With a focus of spreading positive content, he has received multiple national awards including Blog of the Year. He served as a Staff Writer for The Final Call Newspaper for over 10 years. The Final Call is the only remaining nationally distributed Black-owned newspaper in the country and is also distributed in the United Kingdom. His award-winning news articles, columns and interviews have been featured in numerous print and online publications.
Brother Qiyam spearheaded the international social media campaign for the 20th Anniversary of the Million Man March-Justice Or Else gathering in Washington, DC (October 10, 2015), which resulted in an attendance of well-over one million; mostly young people.
As a community servant, he regularly speaks to students on all levels from elementary schools to colleges and universities. The theme of his talks is, “Mediocrity is NOT in your DNA”. He has been a featured speaker at commencements, conferences, conventions and workshops. Along with his Nation of Islam brothers, you will find him consistently “Truth Trafficking” and “Hope Dealing” in the Southeast Houston streets, talking to young people about their purpose in life and working to make our community a decent and safe place to live.
